A Panel is a collection of three, four or five images displayed as a set. The individual images will be related in some way: the same subject, a common theme, similar lighting or a series of pictures telling a story. The idea is that the sum of the individual pictures within the panel is more important than the individual images.
An English Breakfast was originally created as a print panel for a competition at the photo club. The judge commented that he liked the idea, but spotted a slight difference in the tone of the black background of the three separate pictures. The improved version included here, was created by cutting-out the three elements, then pasting them onto a background fabricated in Photoshop. This version was the winner of a gold medal at the 2019 Exhibition of Solihull Photographic Society.
